Tours

Ever dreamt of riding a genuine Olympic style bobsled? Lillehammer, host of the Olympic Games in 1994, is home to Northern Europe’s only artificially frozen bobsleigh and luge track.

Start with bob rafting in a rubber bobsled, seating 5-6 people plus the experiended pilot and reaching speeds of up to 80-100km/hour. Then its time to move on to the Olympic-style bob sled. For many this is the ultimate experience; achieving speed up to 120km/hour and almost 5G. After the adrenaline pumping ride you will receive a certificate and become an official member of the 5G Club. Riding a bobsleigh is suitable for anyone older than 12 years old.

Although tobogganing has not yet become an Olympic event, it is one of Lillehammer’s most popular winter activities. Everyone is equipped with a helmet and goggles, and you control the speed yourself by applying the brakes on the toboggan as needed. It takes only a few runs before you are racing at full speed down the course.

Lillehammer's Hafjell Alpine Centre offers skiing experiences for all skill levels. The on-site snow-making facilities provide reliable snow and skiing conditions throughout the entire winter ski season. All the slopes at the resort lead to the same final destination at the bottom of the hill - simple and easy. The resort also boasts 7 km of floodlit runs so you can continue skiing until late in the evening!

When taking a break from all this activity, why not visit The Norwegian Olympic Museum which is Northern Europe’s only Olympic museum with exhibits spanning all of the 45 Olympic Summer and Winter Games held since 1896. The museum covers all sports disciplines and has a rich collection of 7000 museum artifacts. Lillehammer itself, with its traditional wooden houses, has cosy restaurants, tempting shopping, and an art museum with works by Munch.
