Björn to be wild

Price is based on 2 people sharing a room and travelling in high season (Jan-March 2011) and includes return flights from London to Kiruna via Stockholm, all airport taxes, return airport to/from Ice Hotel, thermal clothing for the whole stay, 1 night in Snow room, 2 nights in warm accommodation (hotel room), breakfasts every morning, ice driving (both driving) and Northern Lights snowmobiling inc. light dinner (2 on 1 snowmobile).

Departures on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays 10 January-31 March 2011. Departures on other days require extra nights. This break can be combined with a stay in Stockholm.

Day 1- Ice Hotel

Fly to Kiruna via Stockholm and transfer to Ice Hotel. Alternatively you can choose to arrive in style in a husky sleigh to the famous hotel made from huge chunks of ice cut from the Torne river. Pretty much everything was once flowing water, from the beds of draped in reindeer hides to the cocktail glasses in the Absolut Bar.

Tonight you will sleep in Snow Room (upgrades to Ice room and Art suites on request). In this simple but spacious snow room you’ll get a good night’s sleep in -5 degrees. You sleep in thermal sleeping bags on a special bed built of snow and ice, on reindeer skins

Day 2 - Ice driving

You are awakened in the morning with a cup of hot lingonberry juice at your bedside. Breakfast buffet and a warming morning sauna are waiting for you. 

After breakfast test your skills on as a driver on a genuine ice track. Push modern ABS systems to the limit under the supervision of skilled instructors, improve your driving skills and have about as much fun as you can on four wheels.

Please note: minimum age for participation 18 years. A valid driving license is required. A compulsory alcohol test may be requested before driving.

Afternoon free for leisure. Check in to your hotel room for 2 nights.

Day 3 - Snowmobile safari & Northern Lights

Breakfast after which there is time for optional safaris. Another Ice Hotel speciality is Raidu reindeer safari when you get to know the culture of Samis and drive a reindeer sleigh. Traditional Sami meal is prepared on a campfire.

In the evening hop on a snowmobile and head into the inky blackness in search of the Northern Lights in the company of Ice Hotel guides. Safari includes a light dinner.

Day 4 - departure

Breakfast and transfer to Kiruna and fly home via Stockholm.
