De Historiske hotels are not ‘ordinary’ hotels. They are landed estates, country houses, timber-framed buildings in pseudo-Swiss or art nouveau style, old coaching inns and other historic buildings that have been transformed into beautiful, small and romantic hotels, where service is paramount and the food is rooted in Nordic tradition.

Hotel, Activity and Local Information
Dr. Holms Hotel is one of the most traditional hotels in Norway, and has been a source of recreation and leisure since the start of the 18th century. The hotel has a wonderful location in the centre of the mountain village of Geilo, at the gateway to North Europe’s largest high mountain plateau – Hardangervidda. The surrounding area provides a world of activities and adventure, providing inspiration and energy – both summer and winter. The hotel opened in 1909 and is now well-known as a high-quality hotel with 127 rooms, a beautiful restaurant and high-class cuisine, a comfy bar where you can meet for a chat both before and after dinner, and the location for the legendary after-ski, which started so many years ago. There is also a lounge, a cosy library, a wine cellar for wine tasting, a pub and a banquet and conference section. Dr Holms SPA is the only Shiseido SPA in Scandinavia and features 2 swimming pools, jacuzzi, gym, Turkish steam bath and sauna. In the autumn of 2006, the hotel opened its new “Bowl & Dine” – an American-inspired diner in 50’s style with 6 modern bowling alleys, the “Brasserie” French-inspired restaurant where you can enjoy both formal and informal meals, and a “Café Lobby” in the reception
Over the last 100 years, Fleischer’s Hotel has established a reputation as one of the most service-minded and traditionally run hotels in Norway. The hotel was built in 1889 in the pseudo-Swiss style with towers, spires, large dormers and balconies. Today, Fleischer's is a modern hotel in which the spirit, charm and style of the past have been preserved. At present, the fifth generation of Fleischers run the hotel. Voss is situated between Norway’s most famous fjords, the majestic and breathtaking Hardanger and Sogn fjords, and is a natural starting point for exploring Fjord Norway.
The elegant, classical style and sheer comfort give the hotel a special atmosphere. The hotel was built in 1928, and parts of it are subject to a preservation order under the Cultural Heritage Act. After busy days seeing the sights of Bergen, we recommend a visit to our Wellbeing Centre, where you can enjoy a relaxing jacuzzi, sauna and solarium. In one of Bergen’s most splendid bars, the Ambrosia Bar, you can settle down in front of the fire with the day’s papers and a glass of something good. The hotel has 131 rooms of various sizes and standards. The hotel is centrally located, next to the railway station.
