ITINERARY

Day 1: Thursday: Arrival
Upon arrival at Kiruna Airport you’ll be transferred to Hotel Ripan, where you will be accommodated in one of their cosy chalets. The rest of the day is for you to explore Kiruna - just a short 10 min walk away. Dinner is not included but we strongly recommend that you eat at the hotel, which serves local specialities.

Day 2: Friday: Moose spotting on horseback
After breakfast you will be transferred to a horse farm and take a ride on Icelandic horses through the moose’s winter grazing land. If you’re lucky, you’ll see both moose and reindeer on your ride through the snowy pine forests. There is a stop for lunch, after which you will be taken to the Reindeer Lodge and check into your cabin, Home for the next 3 nights. Time for a sauna before dinner - which is included.

Reindeer Lodge cabins are eco friendly accommodation and whilst modern and comfortable they do not have running water or electricity. Each cabin is heated and equipped with a wood stove and what is not available in comfort is more than made up by the silent surroundings and candlelit atmosphere. There are communal toilet facilities on site.

Day 3: Saturday: Reindeer & the ICEHOTEL
Take a short lesson in how to handle a reindeer sleigh, then enjoy your sleigh ride, gliding peacefully through the forest. When you get back, a traditional Sami lunch will be waiting for you. In the afternoon visit the village of Jukkasjärvo and take a tour around the world-famous ICEHOTEL.

In the late afternoon you’ll return to Reindeer Lodge where you can have a sauna and enjoy dinner. In the evening just soak up the atmosphere. If you are lucky the Northern lights may sparkle in the sky, and if not, just to experience the light at midnight is spectacular. A shining moon will cast shadows from the trees as the snow reflects the light and you can see for miles.

Day 4: Sunday: Dogsled ride & Torne River Valley
Today you’ll be picked up from your accommodation and taken to a dogsled kennel. You steer a dog team through the impressive Torne River Valley. Stop for lunch en route, returning to the lodge in time for a sauna and the farewell night’s dinner.

Day 5: Monday: Departure
Check-out after breakfast and transfer to the airport for your return journey.
