If you want a taste of the real Spitsbergen, then you could do no better than staying at Mary-Ann’s Polarrigg, a former miners’ rig located in the capital, Longyearbyen. The once-basic rooms have been turned into some of the most charming and memorable lodgings on the island, from the basic but comfortable rig rooms to the luxury suite with its king-size bed and whirlpool bath. The glass walls and ceiling of the Winter Garden restaurant allow guests to enjoy dinner beneath the glow of the Northern Lights, while the world’s northernmost spa is on hand to soothe the senses.

Price is based on 2 people sharing and includes return flights from London to Longyearbyen via Oslo with SAS and 3 nights accommodation in a double room with private facilities on a BB basis. Airport transfers are payable locally and we recommend taking the shuttle bus that coincides with all departures and arrival. The bus stops at Mary-Ann's Polarrigg.

ITINERARY
Day 1
Fly with SAS to Longyarbyen in Spitsbergen via Oslo and check in to Mary-Ann's Polarrigg for 3 nights.
Days 2-3
Days at leisure. We have a selection of wonderful optional activities on offer or alternatively, we would recommend trying spa treatments in the world's northernmost spa!
Polarrigg's 3 bars and restaurants give you an authentic miners experience through to the Winter Garden where the Arctic meets the Orient! The bar is an atmospheric spot to reflect with fellow guests and enjoy some local entertainment. Through the glass walls and ceiling of the restaurant you can always admire the beautiful landscape surrounding the town. Do not be surprised if you suddenly see a reindeer or arctic fox right outside the window, next to your table or if a covey of grouse flutters up from the ground during dinner from where you are sitting.
Optional excursions include snowmobile safaris (day and evening) and dog sledding. Please contact our team for excursions.
Day 4
Breakfast and checkout and flights home with SAS.
