The road takes you to the magnificent beauty of the fells… There’s no rush, no jams – just the feeling of adventure. Marvel at nightless sky and discover the beauty of Arctic summer in Finnish Lapland. The sun never sets at night during summer in the Arctic Circle or to the north of it. The 24-hour light is at its peak for almost two and a half months. In addition to constant light, you may find a herd of reindeer standing in the middle of the road! All the exoticism apart, motoring is safe in Lapland due to excellent road conditions and well marked roads.

On this flexible self drive tour you’ll get to make your own story. Start from the capital of Lapland, Rovaniemi and tailor make your adventure from there onwards!

This 8 days / 7 nights fly drive gives you the freedom of to discover Lapland at your own pace. We will give you ideas of what to see and experience along the journey, but there are many more attractions worth a visit and a detour. The choice is yours.

The different parts of Lapland are clearly distinct. The south and the west are maritime, they have rivers and rich flora. Central and eastern Lapland are known for their tree-covered fells. Northern Lapland is more barren, and only stunted deciduous trees and bushes grow above the tree limit. Time is a relative concept in Lapland. At best, the nightless night in the North can last up to two and a half months.

The best measure of time is day and your own body clock. The ever-shining sun in the summer is a good way to keep time, but once in Lapland, it is best to forget the rush. Take part in the adventure, Lapland is a place for re-generation. Venture into the rushing waters. Pamper your palette with pure tastes. Trek the fells and enjoy nature’s bounty. Give yourself the opportunity to discover the real Lapland.
