Celebrate New Year in Reykjavik, Iceland’s cool capital!

On New Year’s Eve in Reykjavik, Iceland sees what is probably one of the biggest firework displays in the whole world. Every family buys lots of fireworks and the whole evening becomes one big display lighting up the Iceland sky. You will also enjoy a sumptuous Gala Dinner and who knows, you may be lucky and witness the splendid phenomenon of the Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis!

When in Iceland at New Year, do as the Icelanders do: eat, drink and be merry! The New Year nightlife of Reykjavik is without comparison the best in the world and must be seen to be believed. Whether dancing, live music or a quiet cocktail is your thing, there are plenty of options to spend the wee hours in the city and see in the New Year in style.

PRICES & DATES

From price is based on 2 adults sharing a room. Price includes return economy class flights, return airport transfers, 3 nights accommodation at Hilton Reykjavík Nordica (4 star) including breakfast, New Year's Eve celebration including festive dinner and transfer to view fire works at midnight. It is possible to add extra nights.

Departures: 29, 30 and 31 December 2011 for 3 nights

 

ITINERARY

Day 1
Fly from the UK to Iceland. Transfer from Keflavik airport to Hilton Nordica in Reykjavik and check in for 3 nights.

Days 2 and 3
Breakfast at the hotel and day at leisure to take optional excursions or relax in the capital or hotel's spa.

The New Year's Eve celebrations kick off at 19:30 with pre-drink in the function area and is followed by Gourmet New Years Eve Buffet in the ballroom and the Four Seasons hosted dinner show.

At 23:20 we transfer to a nice viewing point over Reykjavík to enjoy the fire works over the city. Iceland does not have the restrictions on fireworks that other countries have, so the whole population of the Reykjavík Capital Area(200,000) makes its own massive fireworks show all over the city by blasting off fireworks from their garden or some vantage point. But this is only the beginning. After midnight, the nightclubs and pubs are open for business, with dancing and celebrating going well into the morning.

00:30 Transfer back to the hotel with a drive through the city centre. Optional drop off in the centre for those who want to keep the night going

Day 4
After breakfast you will take the Fly Bus from your hotel to the airport. Fly back home.
