Northern Lights in Alta, Norway

from £630 per person

Alta – the town of the Northern Lights – is a natural destination to see this spectacular sight and perfect starting point for an arctic adventure. Alta earned its name as a town of the Northern Lights after the world’s first observatory was built there at the end of the 19th century. Today Alta has lost none of its appeal as a ‘Northern Lights destination and on average, it is possible to see them on about 200 nights each year in Norwegian Lapland. To give your self the best opportunity to see this natural phenomenon is during clear winter nights from October to April.

The Northern Lights have mysterious powers according to old local legend. One should never whistle after it unless looking for trouble. Hoping for a baby boy, one definitely should see the Northern Lights.

Price is based on 2 people sharing a room and includes return economy class flights from London to Alta (via Oslo), all airport taxes, 3 nights in chosen hotel and 3 breakfasts. We offer superior and standard grade accommodation on this tour. Superior accommodation is in Hotel Vica whereas standard accommodation is booked in Rica Hotel.
