Norway holidays

Norway has a natural majesty to itself, You will discover a country, which is enchantingly unique and natural, where light and darkness intertwine and where seasons melt together in vibrant colours.

In summer, there are plenty of attractions and activities to keep you busy - the unspoilt open country of the Sami people in the north and fjords, salmon fishing and festivals in the south

Nature "Furrowed and weather-worn", says Norway's national anthem. Indeed, if it wasn't for the Gulf Stream, no one but polar bears would thrive this far north. Thanks to the Gulf Stream and the Midnight Sun, it is possible to live in this otherwise uninhabitable land of extremes. It is the four seasons with all the changes they bring that lay the groundwork for all Norwegian life. The climate in the mainland is surprisingly mild although Norway is the northernmost country in the world to have open waters. The climate of Norway differs from that of the rest of Scandinavia greatly from year to year. Summers are mild and pleasant. The coldest months of the year are January and February when temperature drops well below the freezing point.

Within a few days you can experience coastal villages and big city life in Oslo, go skiing in the morning and choose between four Michelin restaurants in the evening, swim in a fjord with a glacier reaching into it or stand on the northernmost point of Europe, North Cape. In the winter you can spend a night in an igloo, go king crab fishing and relax in the hot tub under the Northern Lights.

Go north this year.

Local Currency Norwegian Krona, credit cards widely accepted.

Scenic and majestic, this country is made of fjords, mountains and sea.

Only a short flight (or a ferry journey) away from the UK, Norway makes a perfect holiday destination. Its public transport network is vast and comprehensive which allows you to explore the country at your own pace. The list of must sees is long: Geirangerfjord, North Cape, Atlantic Road, Raumabanen, Lofoten,Bergen Fishmarket, Alta Igloo Hotel…

Whether you’re thinking to spend 3 weeks or 3 days in Norway, there will be lots of things to see and do. Husky safari in Norwegian Lapland, island hopping in Alesund, hiking in the fjords, there’s something for everyone.
