ITINERARY

Day 1 London to Reykjavik
Fly from London Heathrow to Reykjavik where we’ll transfer you to the 4* Centrum Hotel ideally situated in the capital’s city centre. The rest of the day and evening is free for you to absorb the atmosphere of the city.

Day 2 Glacier Walk and Volcano Experience
Following breakfast on this day you’ll be collected from your hotel for this fascinating day tour where you will be guided through the labyrinth of a glacier tongue extending down from the fourth biggest glacier in Iceland.

Only two hours from Reykjavik you’ll find the Eyjafjallajokul massif, and just a little further east the Solheimajokull glacier tongue extends down from its mother glacier, Myrdalsjokull. This is a safe and easy glacier walk on crampons up on the ice field where a wonderland of ice sculptures, ridges and deep crevasses await your discovery.

The experienced mountain guides will teach you how to use the basic ice equipment necessary for this tour. On the way back to your hotel in Reykjavik there’s a stop at the picturesque waterfalls of Skogafoss and Selialandsfoss.

Day 3
After breakfast you will once again be picked up from your hotel and transported to the Hengill Volcano Area and into the Icelandic Underground Exploring Lava Caves. The journey begins by exploring one of the many lava caves in the Bláfjöll mountain range, just east of Reykjavík. You will find out how lava caves are formed and discover the beauty of stalagmites and stalactites. Having enjoyed the hidden beauties of the underground, we head out to the Hengill geothermal area where an easy hike in magnificently etheral surroundings, dotted with hot springs and bubbling mud pools, awaits you. The hike continues down through Reykjadalur, the Smokey Valley, where it is possible to enjoy a natural bath in a warm stream.

The remainder of the day is free for you to relax and reflect on your unique experiences.

Day 4
An afternoon flight will allow you to choose how you wish to spend your last few hours in Reykjavik, some may wish to do some last minute shopping, others may want to relax in the warm waters of the Blue Lagoon, one thing is for sure and that is that you will have had an experience you will recall for many years to come.
