Take a Santa break to Lapland and spend a Yuletide you and your family will always talk about! A Christmas holiday in Finland is an experience you will never forget.
We’re offering a fully inclusive and authentic Christmas break to wilderness hotel Harriniva, which lies in the Western Lapland on the banks of Muonio River. On this tour you will stay 2 nights in comfortable hotel rooms, which can sleep up to 4 people. You will travel independently as a part of a small group and will be met at Kittila airport by hotel’s guides. You will have all activities included, which include a short husky safari, short snowmobile safari, baking of ginger bread cookies and making of Christmas decorations, a short reindeer ride and ‘Crossing the Arctic Circle’ ceremony. Most importantly, you will have a private meeting with Father Christmas in his log cabin in the snowy forest where you will travel by sleds. The festive Christmas dinner will culminate in a visit by Father Christmas and Rudolph the reindeer. A small present is given for everyone, after which there will be dancing with elves. You will also have a chance to try out snowy activities such as cross country skiing, tandem skiing, snow shoes, tobogganing and mini skidoos (children only).

Our Santa breaks include return economy flights from London or Manchester to Kittila via Helsinki and all airport taxes, transfers to/from Hotel Harriniva, 2 nights accommodation in cozy hotel rooms, welcome drink and breakfasts, lunches and dinners as per itinerary, activities as mentioned, English speaking safari guides, special winter clothes for the whole duration; delivered to your hotel room and lunch-box on departure day. It is possibility to 'smuggle' your letter and present to Santa, which he will read in his cabin. Presents are given out after the dinner on the last evening.

ITINERARY
Day 1
Fly with Finnair to Kittila via Helsinki arriving in the late afternoon or evening.
Transfer to Harriniva Hotel/Muonio (approx. 50-60 min) and check in to your cozy hotel room where your thermal clothing will be available.
Welcome drink and buffet dinner at the restaurant followed by a programme briefing. (Before that time for tobogganing for those who like!)
Day 2
Breakfast in hotel restaurant, after which we start with activities. Meet Harriniva’s 250 huskies that are eager to pull the sleighs through the snowy forest. The cute puppies are guaranteed to melt anyone’s heart! All dogs have their own name and after a demonstration on how to drive the sleigh, you set off for a short husky safari through the snowy landscape. 2 adults drive one husky team and children travel in sleighs with the guides. We stop for a warm berry juice by an open fire before returning back to the hotel by snowmobiles this time. 2 adults drive one snowmobile and children travel in sleighs.
Buffet lunch is served at the restaurant after which we start Christmas preparations; we will make decorations and bake traditional Finnish ginger cookies whilst waiting to meet Father Christmas. Outdoor activities are also available and you can try cross country skiing, tandem skiing or snow shoeing. Children can try out mini-skidoos.
Each family will be transferred to Santa’s cabin deep in the forest by snowmobile sleds for a private meeting with the man himself. Let him know your wishes before returning back to hotel by snowmobile sleds.
Before dinner you have a chance to relax in a sauna. A traditional Christmas Dinner is served in the restaurant with Finnish Christmas specialties. Later in the evening Santa himself will arrive with Rudolph the reindeer and bring a small present for everyone.
Day 3
After breakfast it is time to meet Rudolph, Dancer and Prancer and the reindeer herders. Learn how to drive a reindeer sleigh and after your drive you will get a Reindeer driving certificate as well as enjoying ‘crossing the Arctic Circle’ ceremony.
Afterwards take a transfer back to Kittila airport and fly home (lunch box to take with you) via Helsinki.

Hotel, Activity and Local Information
Harriniva Holiday Centre is a cosy, back to nature, small hotel located in western Lapland close to the Swedish border by Muonio River. The hotel is beautifully decorated and built entirely of wood and stone to a high standard. All guest rooms have private facilities and are non-smoking and do not have TV's. The idea is that you leave 'normal' worries behind, relax and enjoy nature during your stay here. Harriniva has several wilderness cabins across Western Lapland, which are used for overnight safaris. The hotel also has igloos and Aurora Wellness centre which offers beauty and spa treatments, saunas and outdoor jacuzzis. Harriniva restaurant offers local delicacies as well as international dishes.
