Stockholm is the scene of Scandinavian design and international trends, where even the seasoned traveller always discovers something new. Each part of the city is different, so those in search of more hidden gems should boldly venture further away from Drottningsgatan and let the underground carry them away from the city centre. Ostermalm is where you will find designer brands and Vasastan is the Mecca of antiques buffs, while Sodermalm boasts the trendiest cafes and shops in the whole of Stockholm.

Price is based on 2 people sharing a room and includes return flights, all airport taxes and 3 nights at Hotel Esplanade and 3 breakfasts. If you are travelling between Sep-Oct 2010, you will get a free 24 hour Stockholm city card (worth up to £34) including public transport, admission to museums and attractions and discounts on tours and restaurants.

ITINERARY
Day 1
Fly to Stockholm with SAS and check in to Hotel Esplanade for 3 nights.
Days 2-3
Breakfasts at the hotel. Days at leisure and optional excursions.
Stockholm, as a city, is over 700 years old and spreads across 14 islands as it faces proudly out to the Baltic Sea. You can get to just about all of Stockholm’s many wondrous sites on foot, which is the perfect way to see the city. You can also take a boat trip that will give you a different facet of Scandinavia’s largest and probably most beautiful city.
Day 4
Breakfast and self transfer to airport and fly home with Scandinavian Airlines.
Hotel, Activity and Local Information
Hotel Esplanade
Hotel Esplanade is a charming and traditional hotel located in the heart of Stockholm. It's waterside location by Nybroviken allows guests to explore Stockholm by foot. Nearby are Old Town, Wasa Museum and Skansen Outdoor Museum. Hotel's 32 rooms are individually decorated and have private facilities. Hotel Esplanade first opened in 1910, designed by architects Hagström & Ekman in the style of the times, Art Nouveau. It was considered very modern in those times with running water in all rooms, and bathrooms in some guestrooms. Original furniture was carpeted at NK furniture factory in Nyköping. It first operated as a boarding house with long term residents and today offers a great base for exploring Stockholm.
