Action packed snowmobile safari
This ultimate driving safari is perfect for those who want to feel the speed on a snowmobile! Feel the adrenaline rush as you start the engine on a frosty morning, spend your days cruising through the Lappish landscapes, with speed of up to 80km/h on the frozen lakes. The best of this tour is that you can relax every night in a comfortable bed after a hot relaxing sauna and a great meal in the restaurant!
Price includes return economy class flights from London Heathrow/Manchester to Kittila via Helsinki, all airport taxes, transfers, 4 nights in hotel rooms (2 people per room), 1 night in log cabin with shower and wc (4-6 people per cabin), full board (from dinner on day 1 until breakfast on day 5), safaris as described on the programme (1 person per snowmobile), the driving distances may vary according to the weather conditions and skills of the group. All necessary equipment (warm snowmobile jacket & trousers, boots, socks, mittens, hat, gloves, balaclava and helmet) and a qualified English speaking guide. No single supplement!
Please note! The driver of the snowmobile must be at least 15 years of age with a valid driving licence (for vehicles with at least 125 cc). A credit card number with signature has to be left as guarantee in the reception before starting the safari. This safari is not suitable for children. On this safari we use snowmobiles with at least 600cc.
Departures on Wednesdays: 6 and 20 January, 3 and 24 February, 10 and 24 March and 7 April 2010. Other dates on request for min. of 4 adults.

ITINERARY
Day 1: Wednesday
Fly from Heathrow/Manchester to Kittilä via Helsinki and transfer to Hotel Kittilä (approx. 15 minutes). Dinner and accommodation in hotel rooms with shower and wc.
Day 2: Start the engines!
After breakfast delivery of the safari equipment (warm snowmobile jacket & trousers, boots, socks, mittens, hat, gloves, balaclava and helmet) and information about the safari programme, driving and safety demonstration.
It is time to start the safari! We drive today approx. 80-90 km. During the safari we stop for a picnic lunch. As we arrive to hotel Harriniva in Muonio, warm sauna is waiting, and after the delicious dinner overnight in hotel rooms.
Day 3: Direction north
After breakfast we continue the snowmobile safari towards north! The driving distance today is 100-120 km. Picnic lunch en route. In the afternoon arrival to Galdotieva Fell Centre in Palojärvi, close to the Norwegian border. Dinner and overnight in Galdotieva in cosy log cabins for 4-6 persons with sauna, shower and wc.
Day 4: From wilderness to spa
In the morning you have a chance to enjoy the treeless fell landscape of a snow desert. Board your ski-doo and get ready for another 100-120km pure adrenaline today! Picnic lunch en route. In the evening we arrive to Hotel Jeris in Muonio. It is time to pamper yourself in Jeris sauna and spa. Don’t forget to take a dip in the ice hole! Dinner in the restaurant and overnight in hotel rooms.
Day 5: Farewell
After breakfast we start the last part of the safari back in the direction of Kittilä. We drive today approximately 80km. Picnic lunch en route. In the afternoon we return to Hotel Kittilä. After refreshing sauna it is time to recall the adventures of the tour during the delicious farewell dinner with Lappish specialities in the restaurant. The night continues to early hours in hotel pub. Accommodation in hotel rooms.
Day 6: Monday
After breakfast transfer to Kittilä airport and flights home via Helsinki.
Hotel, Activity and Local Information
Your accommodation on VIP snowmobile tour is mainly in hotels: Hotel Kittila, Hotel Harriniva and Hotel Jeris. One night is spent in wilderness log cabin. All accommodation is with private facilities. All hotels are small family hotels with restaurants (and pubs). Harriniva and Jeris are located next to a river or a lake. Harriniva also has igloos and Aurora Wellness centre which offers beauty and spa treatments, saunas and outdoor jacuzzis.
