Day by day itinerary

  • Day 1 » Rovaniemi

Fly to Rovaniemi, where a private transfer will see you to your cosy, boutique hotel. Rooms and suites here are all themed on the heritage and nature of the Arctic, with starlit headboards echoing nights under the northern sky. Once you’ve settled in, collect your winter clothing before the first of your included excursions – a snowshoe hike in search of the Northern Lights. Then, having explored the frozen forests in the company of your expert guide, you’ll return to the hotel for a Lappish-inspired dinner and a good night’s sleep, broken only if the aurora makes an appearance.

    Stay: Arctic Light Hotel, Rovaniemi

    Meals: Dinner

  • Day 2 » Snowmobiles & ice fishing

After a hearty breakfast, you’ll embark on a thrilling snowmobile ride, driving your own snowmobile deep into the Artic wilderness. Zipping along frozen trails, you’ll arrive at a secluded spot in the forest for a traditional campfire lunch. Then, it’s off to a nearby lake to try your hand at ice fishing and the chance to grill and eat your catch. Finally, enjoy some free time for tobogganing before an included dinner at the Hotel Sky Ounasvaara whose seasonal menus, created by head chef Tero Mäntykangas, are a showcase for local ingredients.

  • Day 3 » Teepee Wilderness Camp

Today's excitement begins with a guided wilderness hike followed by a traditional Finnish Sauna and the chance to go ice swimming. Then, after a fire-cooked salmon lunch, you’ll head to a nearby farm for a transfer by husky sled to the Teepee Wilderness Camp. Here, far from the lights of town, you’ll enjoy a night under canvas in a luxury, heated teepee complete with butler service, hotel-quality bed linen, gourmet food cooked by a private chef and, with luck, uninterrupted views of the Northern Lights as they fill the skies overhead.

  • Day 4 » Departure

After your wilderness breakfast, enjoy a morning of cross-country skiing before a final lunch and a transfer back to Rovaniemi in time for your flight home.
