Fly from the UK to Winnipeg. On arrival, make your way to the Grand by Lakeview Hotel, located just a short walk from the airport terminal. Settle into your room before joining your fellow travellers for dinner.

Days 2-6 » Seal River Heritage Lodge

Board an early flight from Winnipeg to Churchill and travel by air to Seal River Heritage Lodge, deep in the wilds of the Arctic tundra. This magnificent wilderness lodge offers comfortable cabin-style accommodation and unbeatable opportunities for encounters with the local wildlife. Don a dry suit and swim with beluga whales, sit back, relax and watch polar bears walk past the lodge’s windows, or climb aboard a big-wheeled Tundra Buggy and go in search of the area’s fascinating flora and fauna. An expert guide is on hand to help you locate and identify an astonishingly diverse array of birdlife. Your stay includes a series of fascinating lectures and photographic presentations highlighting the best of the region’s landscapes, wildlife and people. Each evening, listen out for the howling of local wolves as you gaze up at the starlit sky. In late August you may even catch a spectacular Northern Lights display.

Days 7-8 » Winnipeg

Depart for Churchill after breakfast and explore the trading town – highlights include the Prince of Wales Fort and the Eskimo, or Itsanitaq, Museum – before your flight back to Winnipeg. Enjoy your last night at the Grand by Lakeview and a day’s sightseeing before boarding your overnight flight home.
