Latvia Holidays 2024/2025

Sandwiched between its Baltic neighbours, Latvia has emerged as a leading destination, with the region’s largest city and some enchanting sights.  See itinerary ideas

Riga is the biggest city in the Baltics and an appealing, entertaining place to spend time. Amble through the cobbled streets, riffle the stalls of the large central market, uncover fine examples of gothic, Baroque, Classical and Art Nouveau architecture and scale St Peter’s Church for panoramic views.

Outside of the capital, head to the beaches and dunes at Jurmala, where a dozen small villages straggle along the Gulf of Riga; swimmers and people on the beach play late into the evening during the summer courtesy of the Midnight Sun.

Further afield, the Livonian Coast is a wild landscape of sea, sand, beaches and pine forests that shelter the 200 or so remaining Livonian people, while the town of Kuldiga is the start point for summer trips to the Riezupe sand caves and the base for winter sports the rest of the year.
