Four action-packed days of spectacular Arctic adventures, ending in an aurora dome

» 4 day tailor-made break

» Price from: £1,570 pp incl. flights

Arctic adventures abound on this action-packed short break, from snowmobiling among frozen forests to tranquil reindeer rides through the wintry Lappish wilderness, and, naturally, a few sessions in your hotel’s own Finnish sauna. It all culminates with a stay in a heated Aurora Dome, accompanied by – luck depending – a dazzling display of the Northern Lights.

Day by day itinerary

  • Day 1 » UK to Kittilä

After your flight to Kittilä from the UK, transfer to cosy wilderness lodge Hotel Harriniva. Perched on the banks of the peaceful Muonio River, this hotel charms with traditional rooms, wilderness suites and delightful cabins overlooking the water. Later on, you’ll head to the pine-clad walls of the restaurant, a cosy setting for a three-course meal.

    Stay: Hotel Harriniva, Muonio

    Meals: Dinner

  • Day 2 » Harriniva

Finland’s friendliest antlered residents await you today for a serene reindeer sled ride through blanketed fir forests before you enjoy a fireside wilderness lunch in a traditional kota. Later, tuck into pancakes around an open fire as your guide shares the myths and legends of the aurora. It all comes into play, after dinner of course, with a snowmobile safari where you’ll hunt the Northern Lights.

    Stay: Hotel Harriniva, Muonio

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

  • Day 3 » Torassieppi

After breakfast, you’ll be introduced to another of Lapland’s emblematic animals at the on-site husky farm – take the reins as you mush your own team, or sit back and marvel at the frozen landscape hurtling past. Then, after lunch back at the hotel restaurant, indulge with optional riverside saunas and hot-tub soaks before heading to Torassieppi and your Aurora Dome, idyllically set on the tranquil shores of a frozen lake. Expect fireside cosiness and uninterrupted views of the Arctic sky.

    Stay: Torassieppi Aurora Domes

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

  • Day 4 » Toraseppi to UK

Your adventure comes to an end with a relaxing sauna followed by breakfast and a transfer to the airport for your flight home.

    Meals: Breakfast
