With three full days to explore, and a host of included adventures, this tailor-made break takes in the very best of the lodge's Arctic surrounds. You'll also enjoy full-board dining based on the region's freshest, seasonal ingredients.

Day by day itinerary

  • Day 1 » Depart UK

    Depart the UK for Finnish Lapland, either flying directly to Ivalo or via Helsinki. On arrival, you will be transferred straight to Wilderness Hotel Muotka .

  • Day 2 » Snowmobiling, reindeer experience & aurora camp

    The first activity begins after breakfast, and combines modern technology with an ancient tradition. Take a snowmobile through the wilderness and enjoy enchanting encounters with reindeer, which are found in abundance throughout the region. You'll learn about their importance in Sami culture and get to feed the reindeer yourself. Lunch will be served as part of the excursion. Upon return to the lodge, have dinner and venture out once more in search of the Northern Lights. After a snowmobile sleigh ride through the icy landscapes, you'll arrive at an aurora camp where you'll enjoy hot drinks while waiting for the Northern Lights to make an appearance. With no light pollution and a clear view towards the northern horizon, it's the perfect viewing spot.

  • Day 3 » Husky sledding & Northern Lights hunting

    Yesterday reindeer, today another symbolic animal of the north: the husky. Your guide will take you to a nearby kennel where you’ll meet these intelligent dogs, learn how to handle the sled and then jump straight onto the trail. Set off into the wilderness, enjoying the thrill of the ride as you glide between snowy forests and frozen lakes. One person will 'mush' while the other person sits below, and there will be a chance to switch roles along the way. Lunch is then served back at the lodge. Later that evening head on a hunt for the aurora by snowmobile. Inari is a hot spot for the Northern Lights, so hope you are rewarded with a spectacular display.

  • Day 4 » Muotka Wilderness Lodge

    There’s a whole snowy expanse to discover and delight in around the lodge, so put on a pair of snowshoes and spend the morning hiking, swapping them for cross-country skis in the afternoon.
