Day by day itinerary

  • Day 1 » Arrival at Inari

Fly from the UK to Ivalo and transfer to the Wilderness Hotel Inari, your cosy base in the snowbound heart of Finnish Lapland. On arrival, check into your Wilderness Room – all exposed timber and rustic charm – before settling down to a hearty welcome dinner before and collecting your cold weather gear. Then, you might choose to put it to the test with a stroll out to see if the Northern Lights have made an appearance.

  • Days 2-3 » Excursions

With two full days, you’ll have plenty of time to explore the great outdoors. And, with a full spread of excursions included in the price, there’s plenty to keep you occupied. You'll try your hand at snowmobiling, once in daytime, the other in the evening. First is a gentle tryout session, where you get to familiarise yourself with snowmobiling and the surrounds. Later you will head out into the evening darkness in search of the aurora. Head out on a husky safari, a must-do activity in Lapland; you’ll be taught how to handle your own sled before setting off on a truly unforgettable adventure. There’s also the chance to visit a reindeer farm, calling in to experience the life of a reindeer herder. And, on one evening, you'll travel by snowmobile sled stopping at a specially chosen camp spot to watch the aurora’s dancing display accompanied by hot drinks and an open fire. Another will see you driving a snowmobile into the wilderness with perhaps the aurora lighting the way.
