Put simply, this is Lapland’s finest Santa break. You’ll stay in a designer treehouse hidden among the forested wilds of Finnish Lapland, returning from days of wintry fun to Northern Lights displays and indulgent, included dinners. And, alongside a dogsledding trip among the postcard-perfect Arctic scenery, you’ll also be treated to a day with Santa’s elves, enjoying everything from sledding and gingerbread making to fairytale forest walks and a private audience with Father Christmas himself.

Day by day itinerary

  • Day 1 » The Arctic TreeHouse Hotel

Fly out to Rovaniemi in the heart of Finnish Lapland where you’ll be met, at the airport, and brought the short distance to your luxurious treehouse. All Scandinavian chic, blond timber and floor-to-ceiling windows frame pretty forest views and Northern Lights extravaganzas. Given your remote, Arctic-Circle setting, the aurora makes an appearance almost every other night. You’ll also be treated to the first of your hearty dinners, with traditional Lappish delicacies prepared with a modern twist and locally sourced ingredients. For something particularly special, perhaps warm up at the lakeside sauna or take your meal in private, under the stars by a roaring fire.

  • Day 2 » Visiting Santa

Today you’ll head out, deep into the forests of Finnish Lapland, to meet Father Christmas himself. But, first, you’ll be welcomed by one of his faithful elves who’ll guide you through the legendary Elf School as you learn such crucial Christmas skills as the fine art of gingerbread decoration. Then, after graduating with your Elf School Diploma, you’ll be led along the Fairytale Path through the forest, trying your hand – or perhaps feet – at kick sledging. You’ll then arrive at Santa’s Secret Command Center where you’ll watch as the elves busily prepare for Christmas before meeting jolly St. Nick yourself. Then, present clutched tightly, you’ll be brought back to your cosy treehouse and indulgent dinner.

  • Day 3 » Husky sledding

After another hearty breakfast you’ll be ready to make the most of Lapland’s wintry playground once more, this time with some help from man’s best friend. You’ll be met and brought out to a nearby farm where you’ll have a chance to meet the adorably sociable huskies. You’ll then board a sledge to head out into the wilderness, its quiet only disturbed by the happy yelps of your team. Stopping halfway, you’ll have the opportunity to make the most of the region’s sublime seclusion before swapping drivers and mushing your dogs home. Then, you’ll enjoy your final dinner as eyes again turn skywards.

After a last breakfast, you’ll be brought back to the airport for your flight home.
