Arrive at Ivalo airport and enjoy a private transfer to the stunning Javri Lodge, once the Lapland residence of Finland’s longest serving president – not surprising when you see its spectacular interiors. Intimate luxury is the order of the day here, all rustic log-wood walls and field stone fireplaces made luxe with high ceilings and fur-trimmed features. Check into your cosy, timber wood-walled suite but for true extravagance, choose one of the new panoramic Sky View cabins, where shabby-chic concrete walls contrast beautifully with chic, sleek black panelling and floor-to-ceiling windows that are the perfect frame to outside's snow-blanketed stalagmites. Enjoy the first of your included dinners tonight in the sprawling dining room, where you'll enjoy the likes of fish plucked from the nearby Lake Inari and hand-picked cloudberries. Perhaps accompany your dinner with the excellent selection of world-class wines.

After breakfast each day, choose from a selection of activities that are included in your stay here. Perhaps strap on your skis for some cross-country fun through the remote tundra, or for more thrilling escapades there's a snowmobile safari. Additional options include Lapland's friendliest residents with a charming reindeer ride through the empty fir forests, or mush your own husky team (supplement applies) - with wilderness fireside lunches in between. It's all wonderful prelude to a a dip in the heated indoor swimming pool and soak in the sauna before heading out in search of that magical aurora.
