Day 1 » Fly to Finnish Lapland
Your adventure begins by flying to Rovaniemi, the gateway to Finnish Lapland – positioned almost directly on the Arctic Circle. On arrival, a shared shuttle transfer (around 1 hour 45 minutes) will bring you to Northern Lights Village Pyhä, where you’ll check into your chosen accommodation for the next three nights. Options include glass-roofed Aurora Cabins, extra-spacious Aurora Suites, and cosy, two-bedroom Taiga Forest Cabins. Once you’ve settled in, head over to the restaurant for your first delicious buffet dinner, featuring a variety of Lappish classics and international flavours.
This evening, be sure to keep a lookout for the Northern Lights, either outside or from the warmth and comfort of your bed. At 67°N, Northern Lights Village Pyhä lies right beneath the auroral oval, with excellent chances of spotting the Northern Lights on clear nights. So, with a little luck regarding cloud cover and solar activity, you’ll be able to catch your first glimpse of this majestic phenomenon illuminating the night sky.

Day 2 » Husky safari & aurora hunt by heated sled
Fuel up with a hearty buffet breakfast this morning ahead of a day packed to the brim with epic adventures in the Arctic wilderness. First, you’ll embark on a thrilling husky safari, as your own team of energetic huskies will lead you by sled on a spectacular journey between snow-laden forests and fells. Typically, one person will stand and steer the sleigh while the other will sit below, with an opportunity to switch roles along the way. Afterwards, you’ll return to Northern Lights Village for lunch (payable locally).
The afternoon is free for you to relax in your cabin or suite, or perhaps book another excursion, such as snowshoeing, ice fishing or cross-country skiing. After dinner, once darkness falls, you’ll venture out into the snowy wilderness once more, this time in search of the Northern Lights. Guided by an expert, you’ll take a comfortable seat in a heated sleigh, carving a path through the forests to reach an optimal viewing location far away from artificial light pollution amid the silence and stillness of the Arctic night. While you wait for the Northern Lights to make an appearance, warm up beside a roaring fire with hot drinks while listening to tales about the aurora. With patience and a slice of good fortune, you’ll be transfixed by one of nature’s most awe-inspiring spectacles swirling across the star-studded sky.

Day 3 » Snowmobiling & reindeer safari
Having experienced the adrenaline rush of husky sledding yesterday, today you’ll try your hand at another classic winter activity in Finnish Lapland: snowmobiling. It’s an equally exhilarating way to explore the region’s pristine landscapes, as you navigate between frozen lakes, enchanting forests and snow-laden fells in the Pyhä-Luosto area. Along the way, there will be time to pause for photo opportunities, hot drinks beside a fire, and insights from your guide about the region’s nature and wildlife.
Completing your programme of winter adventures is a visit to a local reindeer farm, where you’ll get to meet the reindeer and learn all about the customs and traditions of the indigenous Sámi people. You’ll learn all about how the reindeer survive in harsh Arctic conditions and their crucial importance in Sámi culture through the centuries. Then, you’ll set off on a reindeer sleigh ride through the forest – another truly magical and unforgettable experience – followed by warm soup, bread, cookies and berry juice.
This evening, enjoy your final buffet dinner at Northern Lights Village. It’s also possible to arrange additional experiences on request, including relaxation in a sauna or hot tub, or another Northern Lights hunt by snowshoe hike or snowmobile.

Day 4 » Return to UK
Enjoy one final breakfast at Northern Lights Village before a shared transfer brings you back to Rovaniemi Airport in time for your flight home. Alternatively, you may wish to extend your stay and perhaps spend a couple of days on the slopes at the nearby Pyhä Ski Resort.
