Aurora Rooms are fitted with glass ceilings, offering uninterrupted views of the northern sky – and, with a slice of good fortune, the possibility of watching the celestial swirls of the aurora borealis from the warmth and comfort of your bed. A wide range of classic winter activities are available at Arctic Lumo Resort, taking place both on-site and in the surrounding area. All tours are exclusive to guests of the resort, and are led by experienced guides with expert knowledge about the nature and culture of the region. Choose from the likes of snowmobiling, husky safaris, reindeer sleigh rides, snowshoe hikes and ice fishing. In the evenings, there’s also the opportunity to join guided Northern Lights hunts, taking you to a wilderness area with minimal light pollution for optimal viewing conditions.
You might also be tempted to ride the nearby Ruka Coaster (the world’s northernmost mountain roller coaster) and enjoy a day on the slopes at Ruka Ski Resort – transfers, equipment, lift passes and lessons can all be organised through Arctic Lumo Resort.
