A visit to the incredible Sky Lagoon, Iceland's brand-new, infinity-edge geothermal pool, is the perfect add-on to any Reykjavik holiday. You'll be driven just 10 minutes from the centre of Reykjavik before arriving at Sky Lagoon, featuring ocean views, a swim-up bar and a seven-step hot and cold wellness ritual including plunge pools, saunas and steam rooms. It's a wonderfully relaxing way to spend an afternoon, and next year will open its own Sky Cafe, featuring local Icelandic dishes. It makes for an ideal add-on to any summer, autumn or winter itinerary, though is perhaps at its magical during the dark clutches of winter when – with luck – the illustrious Northern Lights make their entrance above the stormy Atlantic ocean.
