Witness Norway's beautiful scenery from its incredible rail network, with a chance to travel on one of Scandinavia's most scenic rail journeys – the Flåm Railway. This week-long Nordic adventure combines the lively capital of Oslo with the picturesque villages of Flåm and Voss, alongside a stop in the mountain resort of Geilo, with plenty of opportunities to take part in a range of winter, including dog-sledding.

Day by day itinerary

  • Day 1 » Oslo

    Fly to Oslo and self transfer to your hotel for the night, Hotel Bristol.

    The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore Norway's capital city. Perhaps visit one of the many museums and galleries, indulge in shopping or get active- cycling and hiking in summer and skiing and snowboarding in winter at Oslo's Winter Park.

  • Day 2 » Geilo

    After breakfast, check out of your hotel and board the train to Geilo, enjoying this scenic route into the heart of the Norwegian Alps. Upon arrival, transfer and check in to Dr Holms Hotel, your home for the next three nights. This grand hotel offers a wide range of facilities, including a wellness centre with Turkish bath, extensive wine cellar and piano bar, and an American-style diner with ten-pin bowling alley- accommodating guests of all ages.

  • Days 3-4 » Geilo

    The next two days provide ample opportunity to enjoy Norway's best activities and adventures. Begin your third day with a half-day dogsledding trip on Europe's largest mountain plateau, Hardangervidda. The next day is yours to spend as you wish, free for optional excursions including ice-fishing, skiing and snowshoeing.

  • Day 5 » Voss

    After breakfast, venture to the mountain station of Myrdal, via train from Geilo. Next, board the Flåm Railway, soaking up the breathtaking scenic views along the rail road, including the picturesque village of Flåm, waterfalls, majestic mountain peaks and ravines. Upon arrival in Flåm, take a boat through the fjords to Gudvangen and lastly a bus to Voss, your final stop.

    Check in to Fleischer's hotel, and enjoy traditional Norwegian cuisine in the hotel's famed restaurant.

    Meals: Breakfast & dinner included

  • Days 6-7 » Oslo

    Spend your last day exploring Voss at your own pace, before returning to Oslo by train for a final night.

    After breakfast, transfer to Oslo airport and board your flight home, returning on day seven.
