Pair some early-season Northern Lights viewing with a stay at one of Finland’s hippest hotels on this fun-packed autumn break, which includes three nights at the Arctic TreeHouse Hotel, complete with transfers and Arctic-inspired half-board dining. What’s more, you’ll also be treated to an unforgettable picnic deep in the wilderness as, with luck, the aurora’s greens and golds swirl overhead. And, we’ve left plenty of free time for further exploration, too, with the likes of fat-bike trips, wilderness skills courses and guided husky hikes making the most the mild weather during this wonderfully scenic time of year.

Day by day itinerary

  • Day 1 » UK/Rovaniemi

Flying out to Rovaniemi in Finnish Lapland, you’ll be met for an included transfer to the Arctic TreeHouse Hotel. All blonde-wood and floor-to-ceiling glass, this designer forest hideaway is the perfect combination of traditional cosiness and cutting-edge Nordic design. Check into your suite before heading to the excellent Rakas restaurant for the first of your included dinners. Here, dishes are inspired by the freshest local produce and menus change with the seasons.

Then, after your included half-board dinner, you’ll join your local guide who’ll drive you out to a secluded spot to watch for the Northern Lights. You’ll even be treated to delicious Lappish picnic before heading back to base.

And, remember, you’re also just a stone’s throw from Santa’s year-round home, so why not pay him and his elves a visit to see their preparations in the long run-up to Christmas.
